I slept fitfully. Tied to the bed in Mr Pollex’s shop, my hands cuffed together, my arms secured tightly in a leather armbinder, I barely managed any sleep. Unable to lie flat on my back, I had to constantly roll from side to side to relieve the pressure on my shoulders.
