  1. How do I interact with these chatbots?
    Create an account at Janitor.AI, set up your persona (the ‘character’ you will use to interact with bots) and then start chatting from the bot’s profile page. For general help with using the Janitor.AI site, check out the official Reddit forum here: https://www.reddit.com/r/JanitorAI_Official/.

    There’s also a guide by Aven-Rose that can be helpful for new users; search for ‘JLLM Creator and User Guide by av.rose’. (For some reason I’m not able to include a URL to this guide in this WordPress page.)

  2. Which Large Language Model (LLM) should I use with the chatbots?
    The default LLM as of June 2025 is Janitor LLM. Its performance is just… okay. At the moment I recommend setting up DeepSeek R1 0528 as the proxy model.

    The first six chatbots I made were tested with JLLM. Results do vary a lot with different LLMs. For example, compared to JLLM, DeepSeek R1 is much stricter about following a scene’s intended progression, with characters that stick much more rigidly to their personality definitions.

    Reasoning models like DeepSeek R1 also include a <think> block before their in-character responses.   3. How do I set up DeepSeek or other models with Janitor.AI?

  4. What’s your LLM setup?
    I use Option 1 – the Chutes.AI setup. My Generation Settings are:
    • Temperature: 0.5 (fairly safe)
    • Tokens: 0 (unlimited)
    • Context Size: 20480

  5. Can I make private copies of these chatbots?
    Yes! You don’t need to let me know if you’re doing this. All my bot definitions are publicly displayed and can be played with proxy LLMs.

  6. Can I upload my own copies of these chatbots to other sites?

    You can contact me via this website, find me on Discord, or leave a comment on the relevant bot profile page. Unfortunately, Janitor.AI is blocking UK users from accessing their site from 2025-07-24, so I won’t be actively updating my bots there.
